Join the Free From Cake Bake from April 21-27, 2025
To mark Allergy Awareness Week, we invite you to host your own Free From Cake Bake at your nursery, primary school, out-of-school club or group.
Make your favourite treats without some of the top 14 food allergens. It’s a wonderful way to understand more about living with a food allergy, as well as learn food allergy safety practices.

“Hello everyone! My name is Arlo and I am an armadillo. I am allergic to milk, sesame and eggs, which means if I eat them they can make me very poorly.
My school hosts a Free From Cake Sale so that I can take part in fundraising and enjoy delicious, yummy treats! I am very excited to see what food allergy-friendly activity you decide to do.“

Celebrate Arlo’s Birthday on June 6!
Arlo loves fundraising and he would love you to join him.
Join Arlo and Natasha’s Foundation on June 6 to celebrate Arlo’s birthday. Why not wear purple for the day, it’s Arlo’s favourite colour!
Encourage your whole nursery, primary school, out-of-school club or group to dress in purple for the whole day.
You could wear purple socks, purple clothes or you could even design your own purple armadillo shells! It’s all about taking part and having fun.
Let us know how you will be celebrating Arlo’s birthday and we’ll help you every step of the way.

Arlo’s Allergy-Friendly Sponsorship Ideas
Draw Arlo

Challenge your students to showcase their artistic skills by creating Arlo using their favourite materials. You could ask them to draw, paint, build or create Arlo in any way they love and then display them in your nursery, primary school, out-of-school club or group.
Recipe Book

Ask families to submit their favourite ‘Free From’ recipes that can be collated into a cookbook. You could even ask them to make their ‘Free From’ dish and ask a panel of children to decide the winning entry!
Jumping Competition

Did you know some armadillos can jump four or five feet high? Inspire your students to get active and fundraise by holding a jumping competition. Over one week see how many jumps the children can do at your nursery, primary school, out-of-school club or group and the child or class with the highest number of jumps wins a prize.
Bug Hunt Challenge

Armadillos love to eat bugs! Hold a bug hunt challenge and see how many bugs, beetles, worms, and insects your children can find.
